Objectives:-
The objectives of the B.A course in Social Work are as under:-
- To educate the students about the basic concepts and to acquaint then with various fields of Social Work with reference to Pakistan.
- To prepare the students for higher education.
- To prepare the students to assume responsibilities in the field areas of Social Work when and where needed.

Part ‘A’:-
- Students will make observational visit to six different social welfare agencies. They will be provided guidelines for observations before each visit.
- They will write reports about these visits.
Part ‘B’:-
Students will be assigned to work for two (one each year) of the following activities:-
- Organizing recreational group
- Helping patients in hospitals.
- Helping a local welfare agency in its programmes.
- Experience in structured interview.
- Experience in interview and recording.
WORK TO BE EXAMINED BY THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL EXAMINERS
The recommended break up of marks for the examination is as under:-
– Reports on field work: 10 Marks.
– Viva-Voce 40 Marks
– The candidates failing to produce their note books containing practicals will not be eligible for viva voce.
The criteria of evaluation in the viva voce would be:-
- Understanding about the objectives, structure and functions (services and programs) of the agencies visited and role of professional social workers their-in.
- Ability to relate theory with practice.
- Ability to communicate and express.
